Now that we are well established, the Club has developed several "signature" events and they form the foundation of our programming. Each December, members gather to attend a holiday brunch in Williamsburg. Entertainment and/or an informative presentation accompany the meal and camaraderie. This event is normally scheduled to coincide with Colonial Williamsburg's  "Grand Illumination." Each fall we gather in Staunton, to attend a theatrical performance at the Blackfriars Playhouse. This event is also accompanied by a reception and/or meal, which includes a topical presentation as well. In August we hold a reception for NU students and their parents at the home of one our members in the Richmond area. We have also been fortunate enough to be able to host distinguished faculty via the NU Faculty Speakers Program each of the last three years. 

These annual events are supplemented with locality-specific gatherings at venues in Charlottesville and Norfolk. With the recent success of Wildcat NCAA athletic teams, we have been able to schedule game viewing events in the Richmond area. Similarly, we partner with the NU Club of Washington DC for shared programming and the local Big Ten organization for both participatory and spectator sporting events. Whether it's wine tasting and a viniculture tour in the Virginia piedmont, playing golf with our Big Ten counterparts, touring a Battleship, or listening with rapt fascination to a Faculty Speaker, the NU Club has something for everyone.  We have recently established a scholarship fund that will enable the annual presentation of a grant to a deserving NU student.
