One hundred alumni, friends, faculty and staff gathered at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company on September 27 for NAA’s theatre event showcasing Arthur Miller’s The Crucible. Directed by Ensemble Member Anna Shapiro (Faculty, School of Communication), this classic American drama is set against the backdrop of the 17th century town of Salem - where vicious witchcraft trials expose a community paralyzed by fear, religious extremism and greed.
Following the production, director Anna Shapiro and actors Sally Murphy (GMu84), Lucy Carapetyan (C06), Kelly O' Sullivan (C06) and Lee Stark (C07) participated in an insightful post-show discussion moderated by Rives Collins, Associate Professor of Theatre in the School of Communication.
Please stay tuned for the announcement of our next NAA Chicago Theatre Event!
This event was co-sponsored by the Northwestern Alumni Association, the NU Club of Chicago and the Northwestern University Gay and Lesbian Alumni (NUGALA). page 1 of 1 |
