He also reveals why it's more important for the press to be effective than likeable, while pointing the way to a trustworthy press that can be both effective and popular.

Dick Stolley honed his journalistic skills as a reporter, writer, bureau chief, senior editor and managing editor at Time inc., a Time Warner company that publishes 130 magazines throughout the world for a readership of more than 120 million people.
Climbing the ladder of this leading media outlet, Stolley cultivated a wealth of insights and experiences. During 19 years at the weekly Life magazine, he served as editorial chief of four U.S. and European bureaus and covered the assassination of President Kennedy (where he exclusively obtained the famous Zapruder film of his death). He later was the editor of the monthly Life and Editorial Director of all Time Inc.magazines.
Stolley is a journalist's journalist who enlightens and captivates audience members whether they happen to be causal media observers or Medill graduates from inside the industry.
