Fall Pep Bands
August 30: NU plays Syracuse at home - This home game is before band camp, so all NUMBALUMS are invited to be a part of a pep band! We will join available members of NUMB, playing and cheering in the stands. Percussionists are needed, too!
Game time is 11:00 a.m. Central Time, and our schedule of activities will be as follows:
- 7:45 a.m. - Meet at Regenstein 011. Light breakfast served, loaner instruments available for check out
- 8:30 a.m. - Rehearse at Regenstein
- 10:00 a.m. - Board the band bus for Ryan Field
- 11:00 a.m. - Cheer the 'Cats on to the first victory of the 2008 season!
NUMBALUMS playing in the pep band will not need tickets. Spouses and kids will need tickets, and are welcome to sit in sections near the band.
NUMBALUMS are asked to wear a purple top - either a purple tee-shirt, a purple polo shirt, a purple sweatshirt, or a purple jersey. You are also asked to wear a black NUMB or NUMBALUM baseball cap, if you have one. Caps will be available for purchase if you would like buy one.
If you would like to participate, please send an e-mail to NUMBALUMS-pepbands@alumni.northwestern.edu. Tell us your name, your e-mail address, the instrument that you will play, and whether you will bring your own instrument or will need to borrow an instrument.
September 6: NU plays Duke at Durham: The NUMBALUMS are forming a pep band for the NU vs. Duke football game at Durham, North Carolina, on Saturday, September 6. Game time is 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time, and our schedule of activities will be as follows:
3:00 p.m. Meet and tailgate
4:00 p.m. Practice
5:00 p.m. Play for team arrival
5:30 p.m. Play for tailgating groups
6:30 p.m. Put away equipment
7:00 p.m. Attend game and cheer the 'Cats on to victory!
A block of rooms has been arranged for the nights of Friday, Sept. 5, and Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Quality Inn & Suites motel in Durham. If you would like information about rates and the telephone number to call to make a reservation, please send an e-mail to NUMBALUMS-at-Duke@alumni.northwestern.edu.
Group tickets to the game are available for as little as $10.
If you are can attend and play in the NUMBALUMS pep band, please send an e-mail to NUMBALUMS-at-Duke@alumni.northwestern.edu. Tell us your name, your e-mail address, the instrument that you will play, and whether you will bring your own instrument or will need to borrow an instrument.
Final details will be sent in August to all NUMBALUMS who have told us that they will attend and play.
Homecoming
Homecoming Weekend will be October 17-19, 2008, when the Wildcats will hammer the Purdue Boilermakers at Ryan Field on October 18. We would like to see all NUMBALUMS on campus for our Homecoming activities. The schedule of NUMBALUMS activities will be posted here as details become available.
