NUMBALUMS Membership
Membership in The NUMBALUMS is open to members of the Northwestern University Alumni Association who meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Have one full academic year (three academic quarters) of participation in a University-sponsored performing band, or
- Have one full season of participation in the Northwestern University Marching Band or the the Northwestern University Basketball Band.
Participation includes performance, conducting, and graduate-level assistance. Members are asked to pay annual dues, and are eligible to vote at the Annual Meeting.
Membership Dues and Signing Up
Dues are payable for each year beginning on October 1. Annual dues levels are set by the Board, and are free to young alumni within five years of graduation. The current dues are $20 for individual members and $35 for family memberships. You can now sign up for NUMBALUMS membership online by going to this page. You may already have a profile in our database if you received an e-mail from us with username and password information. Or, if you would prefer, you can send in the printed membership card that you receive in our fall mailings. Honorary Membership
According to our bylaws, "Honorary Membership may be granted from time to time to those individuals whom the Board of Directors, in its sole discretion, deem worthy based on their significant contributions and meritorious service to Northwestern University and its band program." Honorary Members do not vote. Consideration for Honorary Membership should be directed to the Board of Directors. To date, the Board has approved one honorary membership which was presented to Mrs. Marietta Paynter at Homecoming 2000.
Becoming a Booster
Boosters are those parents of current students or any other interested individuals who have a desire to support The NUMBALUMS, either by paying dues or by making any donation to the organization which is accepted by the Board of Directors. Boosters may attend The NUMBALUMS functions, receive communications from the organization, and may bring matters before the Board. Boosters may not vote.
