Latino Alumni of Northwestern University (LANU)

Scholarship Gala

On May 10, 2008, LANU held its inaugural scholarship gala, Noche de Gala, at the Northwestern University School of Law. LANU and its guests celebrated the achievements of the Northwestern Latino community and the endowment of the LANU Scholarship.

During a brief program, LANU recognized the 2007-2008 LANU Scholarship recipient, Kenneth Cebrian (MEAS ’09), for his outstanding contributions to the Latino community at Northwestern as well as his stellar academic achievements. LANU was honored to have Mr. Hector Cuellar (KSM ’80), President of RSM EquiCo Capital Markets, as the keynote speaker for this event.

Guests enjoyed an evening of cocktails and delicious Latin American food and danced the night away to the rhythms of Yo Rumba. Noche de Gala was a great success in bringing together Northwestern’s Latino alumni and in raising funds for the LANU Scholarship. Look for the Second Annual Noche de Gala in the Spring of 2009!
