Travel and Accommodations

Coming to town for Homecoming and Reunion Weekend? Find resources here―including hotel accommodations in and around Evanston and information about campus parking, shuttles, and public transportation. We’ll update this page frequently, so check back as the weekend approaches.

Hotel Accommodations

Make your travel plans for Homecoming and Reunion Weekend 2026 early: Alumni and their guests are responsible for their own travel arrangements, and hotels can fill up fast. The Chicago’s North Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau and Choose Chicago are great resources for the many affordable accommodation options in the Evanston and Chicago areas.

We also reserve hotel room blocks for alumni at local hotels. These room blocks do not include a special discount or rate—rather, they are held for alumni solely as an accommodation option for Homecoming and Reunion Weekend. More details about hotel reservation blocks will be coming soon.

Traveling to Northwestern

Getting to Campus

Train and Bus Transportation

Northwestern’s Evanston and Chicago campuses are easily accessible by public transportation, including the CTA rail and bus system and the Metra commuter rail:

Parking and Divvy Stations

Parking on Campus

Park free on campus throughout Reunion Weekend: University parking restrictions will be waived during Reunion Weekend from Thursday at 4 p.m. through Sunday, excluding emergency lanes and reserved spots. See the Evanston campus parking map.

Note: Vehicles parked in gated garages will need to exit before midnight Thursday through Sunday to avoid a fee. Gates will be raised at 4 p.m. on Thursday and 5 a.m. Friday through Sunday.

Divvy Stations

Evanston has 10 Divvy bike share stations located around the city and Northwestern’s campus to provide visitors with an additional two-wheeled transportation option. Divvy is intended for short trips within Evanston or across Divvy’s network of more than 580 Chicagoland stations.
