Worth Repeating

189 alumni and friends of Northwestern filled the theater of the Museum of Contemporary Art to the rafters on February 17, 2006 for a performance of the new musical Loving Repeating: A Musical of Gertrude Stein.

The new work, co-produced by the Museum of Contemporary Art and the About Face Theatre Company, featured an effervescent score by Tony winner Stephen Flaherty (composer of Ragtime and Once On This Island), stage direction by Northwestern’s own Tony-winning Frank Galati (C65, GC67, NU Faculty), and musical direction by Thomas Murray (WCAS89, Mu89).

Prominent in the cast were Wildcats Cindy Gold (NU faculty), Jenny Powers (Mu03), Christine Mild (C03), Travis Turner (C05), and Bernie Yvon (C86).

After the performance, the Northwestern attendees enjoyed a question-and-answer session with members of the cast and the production team, including the composer and director.
