Well Executed: Execution of Justice at About Face Theatre

On Saturday, January 20, more than 60 fellow alumni and friends gathered to attend the most recent NAA theatre event, Execution of Justice. In this production, celebrated director Gary Griffin (Broadway's The Color Purple) and Emily Mann teamed up with the artists of About Face Theatre to launch a newly conceived production surrounding the 1979 trial of Dan White, who assassinated progressive San Francisco Mayor George Moscone and County Supervisor Harvey Milk. The director and playwright joined Artistic Director Eric Rosen (GC93, GC99), Producing Director Heather Schmucker (C99), Casting Director, Erica Daniels (C91) and Stage Manager Jonathan Templeton (C03) in a post-show discussion which included poignant insight from an alumna who had worked with many involved in the trials and portrayed in the production.

This event was co-sponsored by Northwestern Alumni Association, the NU Club of Chicago and the Northwestern University Gay and Lesbian Alumni (NUGALA).
