Bloomfield discusses Deadly Medicine, the Museum’s groundbreaking special exhibition, which examines Nazism’s roots in biology and genetics.

About the Presenter

Sara J. Bloomfield (WCAS72), director, United States Holocaust Memorial Museum

Sara J. Bloomfield joined the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in the project’s infancy in 1986 and served in a variety of positions before becoming director in 1999. Under her leadership, the Museum created the National Institute for Holocaust Education, established its Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies and launched its Committee on Conscience, which addresses contemporary genocide. Bloomfield oversees this $60 million public-private partnership, whose educational programs are funded with private support. She has led several major negotiations on behalf of the Museum and has become a valued adviser to institutions around the world, including the Ground Zero Memorial and The Museum of Freedom, both to be built on the World Trade Center site.
