Traveling Student Review 2005

Traveling Student Review 2005:
Standing Room Only

For the fifth consecutive year, the Traveling Student Revue cast met with rousing ovations! From coast to coast, Broadway to the Pacific, seven musical theatre students under the direction of Dominic Missimi, Northwestern professor holding the Donald Robertson Endowed Chair in Music Theatre, performed a 55-minute revue of the last 101 years of Broadway.

With narration by Dean Barbara O’Keefe of the School of Communication, the review charted musical theatre from George M. Cohan's Give My Regards to Broadway, through the landmark musicals of the 30s, 40s, and 50s including Porgy and Bess, Oklahoma!, Guys and Dolls, My Fair Lady and West Side Story. They showed the innovation of the 60s, 70s and 80s with songs from Cabaret, Hair and A Chorus Line. And concluded with the hits of today from the Tony Award-winning musicals currently on Broadway, Wicked and Hairspray.

Over 400 alumni, parents, friends, students and prospective students enjoyed the music and a chance to get to know the future of Broadway.

The students would like to thank all who prepared for and supported TSR 2005: Northwestern Alumni Association, School of Communication, NU Club of San Diego, NU Club of Los Angeles, NU Club of Coachella Valley, NU Club of San Francisco Bay Area, The Guild, our alumni hosts, and our audiences. Thank you!
