The Council of One Hundred, a women's mentoring organization, was founded in 1993.
Members of the Council are leaders in their chosen professions who are willing to share their knowledge and experience to enrich the lives of Northwestern's undergraduate and graduate women students, and young alumnae.
Members return to campus twice each year to participate in career advisory and life choice sessions with women students.
Membership is by invitation only. To renew your membership, Click Here. (username and password required) To nominate an alumna for membership, Click Here.
Each member of the Council shall be selected to the Council by the Executive Committee for a term of three years. Each new member of the Council shall be informed in writing by the Chair of her selection to the Council and shall be requested to respond as to whether she accepts membership in the Council and understands the obligations of members which includes attendance at one meeting a year on campus or a regional meeting off campus.
At every three years each member will be asked if she wishes to, and is able, to continue as an active dues paying member.
New members may be selected to the Council at any time. From time to time the Executive Committee may determine the maximum number of Council members and whether there shall be different categories of Council membership.
A newly added category is Associate Membership. The Associate Membership is designed to target women between the ages of 25 and 32 years of age. This level of membership is for one calendar year and requires a dues payment of half the current dues amount. (Note: Council year runs from September to August.).
The maximum number of Associate Members on the Council is limited to 30. At least one Associate Member will sit on the Executive Committee.
If you are a member of the Council, and are aware of an alumna who should be considered for membership, please complete the nomination form to the best of your knowledge; it will be submitted to the Executive Committee for research and review.
