From O'Hare AirportTake the main exit road from the airport, which turns into I-190, east for about a half-mile. Exit right and go north on I-294, the Tri-State Tollway. You will be headed north toward Wisconsin and shortly after entering, you will need to pay a 50-cent toll. Go north about three miles to the Dempster Street eastbound exit. Take Dempster Street east approximately 10 miles through Park Ridge, Niles, Morton Grove and Skokie into Evanston. Turn left onto northbound Forest Ave just through downtown Evanston (the last traffic light before Dempster Street ends at Lake Michigan). Follow northbound Forest Avenue for approximately half a mile, curving to the right (eastbound), then left (northbound), until it merges with and ends at Sheridan Road. When this occurs, you will see Lake Michigan on your right (to the east). The John Evans Alumni Center is on the left side of Sheridan Road, on the northwest corner of the intersection of Sheridan Road and Clark Street.
Airport Shuttle Continental Airport Express Continental Airport Express offers daily shuttle service from O'Hare International Airport between downtown Chicago and north suburban locations from 6 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Departures are about every 5 to 10 minutes. The fare to Evanston is approximately $20 for a standard passenger, or $17 for students. You can reserve a seat in advance by calling (312) 454-7799 or you can make your reservation at the Continental Air Transport ticket counter after you have collected your baggage. Subway (the "L") The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA/elevated/"L") train provides rapid transit service from O’Hare to downtown and from downtown to Evanston. Take the CTA Blue Line train from the O’Hare station to Washington Street in Chicago’s Loop. Get off at Washington Street and walk through the pedestrian tunnel to the Washington Street stop on the Red Line. Take the Red Line north to Howard Street. Howard Street is as far as the Red Line goes in the direction of Evanston, so you will need to get off the Red Line train and transfer to a Purple Line train from the same platform.
Take the Purple Line north to the Davis Street stop in Evanston. Walk north to Church Street and turn east (right) on Church Street and continue to Hinman. At Hinman, turn north (left) and walk one block to Clark Street. Turn east (right) on Clark Street to Sheridan. The John Evans Alumni and Visitors Center is located at 1800 Sheridan Road, on the corner of Sheridan Road and Clark Street. Taxi A taxicab ride costs about $30 one way.
